Am I gaining weight too fast?


I have been bulking for 5 weeks now, I have gone from 176Ibs. and a 35.7In. waist, to 193.8Ibs. and a 37.2In. waist. Am I gaining too much fat, and if so, what are some ways I can minimize my fat gain? Currently I eat about 3100 calories a day, most of it good clean food.

I think most of it would be fat, no one can gain 17 pounds of muscle in 5 weeks. The only way to minimize fat is to eat less calories, and cardio, to bulk up, you should only eat about 500 calories above maintenance level, but keep lifting and the cardio, to ensure yourself that your gaining muscle and not fat.
